3 Ways to Decorate Easter Eggs

3 Ways to Decorate Easter Eggs
Hey lovelies! Sorry for the inactivity; I'm kinda stuck on tip ideas :/ But I do have one for you today, and it's about decorating easter eggs(:

WAY 1; OMBRÉ EGGS

MATERiALS;
~spray paint in a variety of pastel colors.
~lazy susan
~disposable shower cap ( optional)
~play-doh or similar clay compound
~blown out eggs

STEPS;

O1; First you need to have blown the eggs in advance and filled in the ends. Here's how to do that; http://www.ashbeedesign.com/2012/03/easter-egg-prep-filling-holes.html

O2; Once your eggs are ready for decorating, set up a good spray painting area with plenty of ventilation.

O3; Take each egg and place it on a pedestal of play-doh atop a small container. Something the size of an empty cream cheese container works perfectly. This arrangement is to allow you space for spraying.

O4; Place all of this on top of a lazy susan that has been covered. A shower cap works well at covering it. It is important that you can easily spin the egg as you spray.

O5; As you slowly turn the lazy susan carefully start spraying. Use light coats and aim down from above. The curve of the egg helps created the color gradation by blocking some of the spray.

O6; As always with spray paint, several light coats are required. Don't spray too much at once or you will get drips. You can try doing just one color, spraying two colors from either end up, or spraying two colors from either end to the center and leaving a little of the whiteness in the middle.

WAY 2; LACE EGGS

MATERiALS;
~lace ribbon
~food coloring
~hot water
~white vinegar
~blown out eggs

STEPS;

O1; Take your lace and cut it into strips.Tie these very tightly around the center of the egg. This is one of the most important steps so make sure you’ve got that ribbon attached like a second skin to that shell.

O2; Mix a few drops of food coloring with some hot water. The more water, the more sheer your dye will be. Add a drop or two of white vinegar.

O3; Place one egg in the hot water mixture and leave it for 10 – 15 minutes.

O4; Voila! You have lace dyed Easter eggs!! However, if you don't want your lace to be the same color as your egg, you can skip the first step and dye the egg first. Then wrap the lace on your egg once the egg has dried.

WAY 3; SPECKLED EGGS

MATERiALS;
~pastel colored dyes
~watered down brown acrylic paint
~toothbrush
~blown out eggs

STEPS;

O1; Place your eggs in the dye for a few minutes. Allow them to dry.

O2; Dip the toothbrush into your paint. Run your thumb along the brush to "flick" the paint onto your egg.

xoxo,
~Claire

Natural 5-Minute Makeup Routine

Two months ago - 763 views
Natural 5-Minute Makeup Routine
Hey lovelies! Sometimes, you might wake up late and you don't have enough time to do your normal makeup routine. Well, you don't have to worry, because I have a quick makeup look that looks natural yet still pretty(:

PRODUCTS; (in order of use)
~concealer
~setting powder
~eyeshadow primer (optional, but a must for oily eyelids)
~shimmery champagne eyeshadow
~matte medium taupe eyeshadow
~black or brown pencil eyeliner
~black or brown mascara
~brow pencil/powder
~peachy pink blush (or any blush that you find flattering for your skin tone)
~pink tinted lip balm

STEPS;

O1; Apply your concealer on any problem areas (under your eyes, blemishes, scars, redness, etc)

O2; Set your makeup with a powder.

O3; Dot a little eyeshadow primer onto your eyelids and blend it out.

O4; Put a little of your shimmery champagne eyeshadow on the inner corners of your eyes and on your brow bone to highlight them and make you appear more awake.

O5; Apply a medium taupe eyeshadow over your entire lid. Put a little of the champagne eyeshadow in the middle of your lid to give your eyes another subtle highlight.

O6; Line the top of your eyelid with a brown or black pencil eyeliner. Brown looks more natural, and pencil eyeliner is the less intense compared to gel or liquid eyeliners.

O7; Curl your lashes and apply 1-2 coats of a black or brown mascara.

O8; Apple some blush on the apples of your cheeks to warm up your face. To find the apples of your cheeks, just smile and the apples are the high points that rise up.

O9; Finish off with a pink tinted lip balm, and you're done!

~Claire

Vintage Floral Nail Art

Two months ago - 1,493 views
Vintage Floral Nail Art
Hey lovelies! Floral nails are beautiful and look intricate, but they aren't that hard. They just require a little patience. You can choose to make polka dot and striped accent nails, or you could have the floral design for all your nails.

MATERiALS;
~base and top coats
~any base color (pastels like light blue and peach are best)
~medium pink nail polish
~hot pink nail polish
~medium green nail polish
~toothpicks
~white nail striper
~white nail polish
~bobby pin

STEPS;

O1; Start off with a base coat, and paint all your nails a base color. For this tutorial, i'm just going to go by the picture, but you can definitely use different colors if you want. For your thumb, middle, and pinky fingers, use 2 coats of a blue polish. For your index and ring fingers, use a dusty rose nail polish.

O2; Using the medium pink nail polish, dab on a few blobs. You can just use the brush that comes with the nail polish rather than a tiny nail art brush. These are going to be the roses.

O3; Dip your toothpick into a big of the hot pink nail polish and outlines parts of the blob. It doesn't have to be completely neat and perfect because petals are usually a little wavy.

O4; In the middle of the rose, make a little dot with the toothpick and draw a c shape around that dot. Again, it doesn't need to be too neat.

O5; Dip the side of the toothpick into the green nail polish and flick it off the side of the rose. That will be the petal. Make 2 petals per rose.

O6; Continue making roses for all the blue fingers. You can make 4-5 small roses per nail like in the picture, but it would be easier to make 2-3 big ones on each nail.

O7; For the index finger, bend a bobby pin and use the spherical end as your dotting tool. Dip it into a white nail polish and make rows of dots.

O8; For your ring finger, use a white striper to make vertical stripes.

O9; Finish off with a top coat, and you're done!

Starbucks Secret Menu

Starbucks Secret Menu
Hey lovelies! Starbucks is one of my favorite places to go for food; everything tastes so good! But did you know that you can add extra things to your drinks to make them even more delicious? Here are some new combinations you can try;

~Samoa Frappucino; Just like the Girl Scout cookie! Add a caramel drizzle to a mocha coconut Frappucino.

~Thin Mint Frappucino; Another drink similar to the Girl Scout favorite(: Blend chocolate syrup and java chips with a Tazo Green Tea Crème Frappucino

~Snickers Frappucino; Who doesn’t love Snickers? Have a java chip frappucino with 2 pumps of toffee nut and a caramel drizzle on top.

~Banana Cream Pie Frappucino; This really sounds like a delicious treat! Try a vanilla bean crème frappucino with vanilla and hazelnut syrips, whipped cream, and a whole banana.

~Cookies&Cream Frappucino; I love this one <3 It’s a white chocolate mocha frappucino with java chips and a dash of peppermint syrup.

~Cinnamon Roll Frappucino; This tastes just like the pastry(: It’s a combo of a vanilla bean crème frappucino and cinnamon dolce syrup.

~Captain Crunch; I’ve never actually tried this one before, but my friend says it’s amazing! Order a strawberry and crème frappucino with a pump of caramel, two pumps of toffee, one pump of hazelnut, and two scoops of chocolate chips.

~Oreo Frappucino; This might just be my favorite lol! It’s a double chocolate chip frappucion with white mocha syrup instead of the regular mocha.

Saving Money When Shopping

Two months ago - 811 views
Saving Money When Shopping
Hey lovelies! Most girls LOVE to go on shopping sprees; the only problem with them is that when you go on one, they kinda use all your money :/ However, there are some ways to reduce the total cost of the things you buy(:

PART 1; BUYiNG CLOTHES

O1; SHOP AT CHEAPER STORES♥
Obviously buying a ton of stuff at Barney's and Saks will need a lot of money. While I love designer clothes as much as the next fashionista, it's still easy to find cute and chic clothes at cheaper places like Forever 21, H&M, Zara, and Target. These stores have trendy clothes that will last if you take care of them.

O2; iNVEST iN CLASSiCS♥
These are things that you'll wear often and are going to last you a long time. Spend a little more money on them and make sure the quality is good.
Here's a list of classics every girl needs in her wardrobe;
Little black dress
Beige trench coat
Black heels (3"-4")
Black flats
Dark wash skinny jeans
Black pencil skirt
White button-down blouse
Riding boots
Black blazer
Black slim-fit trousers
Cashmere cardigans

O3; SHOP OUT OF SEASON♥
It may seem weird to buy things like shorts and bathing suits in the winter, but it saves money. Right now, buying summer clothes would be cheaper than buying them during the summer months. For example, Target is currently having a sale on bathing suits. However, be careful when you do this; make sure you buy stuff that you'll actually wear in a few months. Also make sure whatever you buy won't look out of style when it comes time to wear it.

O4; SHOP THE SALES♥
So this is probably the most obvious way to save money, but it's a great way to do so! When you walk into a store, immediately head to the sale/clearance section and take your time there; if you look through everything, you're probably going to find something you really like. However, don't buy something just because it's on sale; only buy things you genuinely like and would wear.

O5; SAVE ON BASiCS♥
You don't need to spend $20 on a plain white tank top. Instead, go to Forever 21 or Target to buy basic things like leggings, plain tank tops, plain t-shirts, etc. for $10 or less each. These things don't last very long, so you might as well just buy cheap ones that can last for a couple months than buy more expensive ones that don't last longer. If take care of your basics well, then they can even last for about a year or so even though they were cheap. Just make sure that when you buy the items that they are made of a good material and don't feel cheap/really thin.

O6; ONLY USE CASH♥
If you use a credit card, you'll be inclined to buy more and henceforth, spend more money. If you bring, say, $200 to the mall, you'll be shopping within a budget and stop when you run out of money/when you don't find anything else to buy. Having a budget will make you think more about your purchases, and you're less likely to buy something you don't want.

PART 2; BUYiNG MAKEUP

O1; SHOP AT THE DRUGSTORE♥
Places like CVS, Walgreens, etc. have lots of makeup that is good/better than high-end brands. Brands like Wet n Wild, New York Color (NYC), and eyeslipsface (ELF) have some really good products at princes under $5. (Here's a tip on the best drugstore beauty products; http://www.polyvore.com/best_drugstore_makeup_products/set?id=62692012) However, it's a little hard to buy foundation/concealer/powder because you can't test it out. If you already have a bottle of foundation or concealer at home, bring it with you to the drugstore and hold it next to a few shades that are similar to yours and find the best match. If you're ordering online, try using this website; http://www.temptalia.com/foundation-matrix

O2; BUY DUPES
Imagine you're in Sephora and you see this beautiful lipstick that would looks amazing on you. However, you take a look at the price and it's $30 :( Chances are, there's a drugstore dupe for it. Makeup dupes can save you loads of money while still allowing you to achieve the look you want. Here's a list of a bunch of makeup dupes; http://www.temptalia.com/makeup-dupe-list

O3; COLLECT SAMPLES
Even though they're small, you can use them to try products without spending any money. For example, if you want to try a perfume, you can go to department store and ask for a small sample of it (it'll usually be the tiny 0.05 mL vial). This way, you don't have to spend money on an expensive perfume and you still get to use it for a few days and decide if you actually do want to buy it or not.

O4; BUY OFF OF AMAZON.COM
If you look around, you can find makeup on amazon that's cheaper than the price at Sephora. This applies especially to nail polish. I've bought Essie and OPI nail polishes for $4-$5 when they're normally $8 at CVS. I recommend going to Sephora or looking at swatches online first to see if you really like the color of whatever you're buying.

O5; BUY SETS
Have you seen those makeup sets at Sephora? They usually come with 3 or more products. Sometimes you can create an entire face of makeup using a set (minus the foundation and concealer though). For example, Benefit has a "Full Glam Ahead!" set that is $12 that includes a mini Bad Gal mascara, mini high beam, and mini stay don't stray primer. A mini Bad Gal mascara costs $10 on its own, so buying the set obviously saves you a bit of money. There are a bunch of sets that have a mixture of full size and deluxe sample size products, so be sure to take a look at them next time you shop at Sephora or Ulta.

PART 3; ACCESSORiES

O1; Jewelry
You definitely shouldn't have to spend much on jewelry. If you shop at Forever 21, you can get a couple necklaces, some bracelets, a ring, and a few pairs of earrings for less than $50. Things like cocktail rings and statement necklaces don't need to be made of real diamonds and precious stones; no one will know anyway.

O2; iPHONE CASES
Get these off amazon or etsy. There are so many cute and creative ones, and they're sturdy and good quality. You can easily get a case off etsy for $10. You could also buy a plain white iphone case and paint it/stud it/do whatever you want to it yourself.

O3; BAGS
Invest in a good handbag that you can use often (i.e. whenever you go shopping, to the movies, out on dates, etc.). Things like canvas totes can easily be bought for less than $10 and they'll last a while because of the material they are made of. You can buy cheap clutches and wallets because those things come and go with the different trends.

Have fun shopping!

xoxo,
~Claire

Parisian-Inspired Outfits
~~~~~~requested by @gracesconfession~~~~~~
Hey lovelies! Paris is famous for it's classy and chic style. Here are 4 Parisian style outfits:
O1; beige trench coat, black and white striped top (navy and white also works), dark wash skinny jeans, dark brown riding boots, and gold jewelry
O2; burgundy cardigan (avoid really slouchy and loose ones; Parisian style involves classic cuts with a little twist), a white blouse, black leggings, beige flats with a black cap toe, pearl stud earrings (diamond studs would also look good)
O3; black trench coat, black dress with peter pan collar and polka dots, black flats with a bow, and a structured brown purse (it seems like a lot of neutral colors, but Parisians tend to wear all black and have one accessory that isn't black; structured purses are also common, and if you want, you could try a brighter color for the springtime)
O4; grey peacoat, white blouse with bow, camel skinny jeans, black slippers
Taking Care of your Lips!
Taking Care of your Lips!
Hey lovelies! It's been AGES since I've posted a tip, but I'm starting this account up soon again, so be on the look out for auditions(: Now that I'm back, this account is going to be bigger and better than before!
Anyway, a lot of us have experienced dry lips this winter and it isn't fun. Winter's coming to an end, but that doesn't mean you have to stop taking care of your lips. Here are some ways to keep your lips moist and healthy;
O1; LiP BALM♥
Okay, so this is probably the most obvious one. However, it's also the most important. If your lips tend to be dry, always always ALWAYS keep at least 1 tube of lip balm with you at all times. My favorites are Nivea's A Kiss of Milk and Honey, Nivea's A Kiss of Recovery, and Nivea's A Kiss of Moisture. These ones are great if your lips need serious moisture. If your lips are already in pretty good condition but you just need a lip balm to keep them in that state, try the eos ones. They're cute and smell/taste great(: You could also use a bit of Vaseline if you want because it locks in all the moisture and gives you a clear glossy look. Don't forget to apply lip balm at night before you go to bed! And always apply lip balm before putting on lipgloss or lipstick to avoid a dry feeling and prime your lips.
O2; LiP EXFOLiANT♥
You don't have to go out and buy expensive lip exfoliants for this step. Instead, you can make one at home (here’s a link to a DIY one: http://www.chicfactorgazette.com/diy-sugar-lip-scrub/) You could also buy the $3 lip exfoliant from elf here: http://www.eyeslipsface.com/studio/lips/lip_balm/lip_exfoliator
Exfoliate them once a week, and remember to put on lip balm after you exfoliate your lips!
O3; SPF FOR YOUR LiPS♥
Don’t forget that your lips can get sunburned too! Since lips are made of thin skin, sun damage can make them appear even thinner. Try to find a lip balm with an SPF of 15 or higher, but a lip balm with any SPF at all is good.
OTHER;
♥Drink lots of water
♥Avoid licking your lips (this dries them out eventually)
xoxo,
~Claire
&&5 life lessons you need to REMEMBER!♥(:
Hai! It's Hannah//@hmcr (:
Again, I apologize for not being very active :p
-
Well this isn't a real tip, but you NEED to read these (:
{ I didn't write it; I found it on the internet }
1 - First Important Lesson - Cleaning Lady.
During my second month of college, our professor
Gave us a pop quiz. I was a conscientious student
And had breezed through the questions until I read
The last one:
"What is the first name of the woman who cleans the school?"
Surely this was some kind of joke.. I had seen the
Cleaning woman several times. She was tall,
Dark-haired and in her 50's, but how would I know her name?
I handed in my paper, leaving the last question
Blank. Just before class ended, one student asked if
The last question would count toward our quiz grade.
"Absolutely, " said the professor. "In your careers,
You will meet many people. All are significant. They
Deserve your attention and care, even if all you do
Is smile and say "hello."
I've never forgotten that lesson. I also learned her
Name was Dorothy.
♥♥♥
2. - Second Important Lesson - Pickup in the Rain
One night, at 11:30 p.m.., an older African American
Woman was standing on the side of an Alabama highway
Trying to endure a lashing rain storm. Her car had
Broken down and she desperately needed a ride.
Soaking wet, she decided to flag down the next car.
A young white man stopped to help her, generally
Unheard of in those conflict-filled 1960's.. The man
Took her to safety, helped her get assistance and
Put her into a taxicab.
She seemed to be in a big hurry, but wrote down his
Address and thanked him. Seven days went by and a
Knock came on the man's door. To his surprise, a
Giant console color TV was delivered to his home. A
Special note was attached.
It read:
"Thank you so much for assisting me on the highway
The other night. The rain drenched not only my
Clothes, but also my spirits. Then you came along.
Because of you, I was able to make it to my dying
Husband's' bedside just before he passed away.... God
Bless you for helping me and unselfishly serving
Others."
Sincerely,
Mrs. Nat King Cole.
♥♥♥
3 - Third Important Lesson - Always remember those
Who serve.
One day, a poor boy who was selling goods from door to door to pay his way through school, found he had only one thin dime left, and he was hungry. He decided he would ask for a meal at the next house. However, he lost his nerve when a lovely young woman opened the door. Instead of a meal he asked for a drink of water. She thought he looked hungry so brought him a large glass of milk. He drank it slowly, and then asked, “How much do I owe you?” “You don’t owe me anything,” she replied. “Mother has taught us never to accept pay for a kindness.” He said, “Then I thank you from my heart.”
As Howard Kelly left that house, he not only felt stronger physically, but his faith in God and man was strong also. He had been ready to give up and quit.
Year’s later that young woman became critically ill. The local doctors were baffled. They finally sent her to the big city, where they called in specialists to study her rare disease. Dr. Howard Kelly was called in for the consultation. When he heard the name of the town she came from, a strange light filled his eyes. Immediately he rose and went down the hall of the hospital to her room. Dressed in his doctor’s gown he went in to see her. He recognized her at once. He went back to the consultation room determined to do his best to save her life. From that day he gave special attention to the case.
After a long struggle, the battle was won. Dr. Kelly requested the business office to pass the final bill to him for approval. He looked at it, then wrote something on the edge and the bill was sent to her room. She feared to open it, for she was sure it would take the rest of her life to pay for it all. Finally she looked, and something caught her attention on the side of the bill. She began to read the following words:
“Paid in full with one glass of milk”
Signed, Dr. Howard Kelly.
♥♥♥
4 - Fourth Important Lesson. - The obstacle in Our Path.
In ancient times, a King had a boulder placed on a
Roadway.. Then he hid himself and watched to see if
Anyone would remove the huge rock. Some of the
King's' wealthiest merchants and courtiers came by
And simply walked around it. Many loudly blamed the
King for not keeping the roads clear, but none did
Anything about getting the stone out of the way.
Then a peasant came along carrying a load of
Vegetables. Upon approaching the boulder, the
peasant laid down his burden and tried to move the
stone to the side of the road. After much pushing
and straining, he finally succeeded. After the
peasant picked up his load of vegetables, he noticed
a purse lying in the road where the boulder had
been. The purse contained many gold coins and a note
from the King indicating that the gold was for the
person who removed the boulder from the roadway. The
peasant learned what many of us never understand!
Every obstacle presents an opportunity to improve
our condition.
♥♥♥
5 - Fifth Important Lesson - Giving When it Counts..
Many years ago, when I worked as a volunteer at a
hospital, I got to know a little girl named Liz who
was suffering from a rare & serious disease. Her only
chance of recovery appeared to be a blood
transfusion from her 5-year old brother, who had
miraculously survived the same disease and had
developed the antibodies needed to combat the
illness. The doctor explained the situation to her
little brother, and asked the little boy if he would
be willing to give his blood to his sister.
I saw him hesitate for only a moment before taking a
deep breath and saying, "Yes I'll do it if it will save
her." As the transfusion progressed, he lay in bed
next to his sister and smiled, as we all did, seeing
the color returning to her cheek.. Then his face
grew pale and his smile faded.
He looked up at the doctor and asked with a
trembling voice, "Will I start to die right away".
Being young, the little boy had misunderstood the
doctor; he thought he was going to have to give his
sister all of his blood in order to save her...
don't need the money, love like you've never been
